@ The George M. Kretschmar Jr. Planetarium To take a breath-taking peek at our Ultimate Encounter ending...see exactly 1 frame (1/60th of a second) and let your mouse scroll around to see the images all over the dome in that one moment of the final 2 minutes and 50 seconds seen on the dome! It's just a glimpse... Look here! The link will open in a new window. The featured film shown in the Planetarium is: "The Ultimate Encounter ". It's a 20-minute film presenting skyviewing of the past, present and future. Skyviewing of the Past shows briefly the development of the telescope. Skyviewing of the Present includes a graphic animation of the Hubble telescope as well as a brief clip (also in animation) of the probe to Mars, along with a short clip of mankind's first steps on the moon. Skyviewing of the Future uses source information from Scripture that gives a prophetic spiritual climax from a Christian perspective. That last segment lasts just four minutes, and leaves many viewers breathless with exciting animation and visuals. The Ultimate Encounter presentation includes a brief tribute to Pastor George Kretschmar Junior, deceased son of the producers. Another program available for viewing in the Planetarium is called "Dipper Full of Stars", a strictly educational 18-minute film revealing the role of the Big Dipper in U.S. history during the Civil War.
